It has been confirmed that PS Jailbreak team will release a new version of Backup Manager which is the most anticipated version ever, the Backup Manager v1.1 and it will be ready for everyone who bought the original PS Jailbreak dongle next week. Yes, you read it right. It’s just next week. The source? The one who reveal the final retail images of the original PS Jailbreak, ChipSpain as well as the one who sent me an email about this ground breaking news just about 5 hours ago.
Alright, let’s rewind back the clock a month ago. The PS Jailbreak team has promised us that they will release this new version of Backup Manager on the 15th of September. But nothing shows up, not even a word. That is really something that frustrated the people who want to enjoy NTFS support, jailbreaking the console in all firmwares, the ability to play PSX and PS2 even on Slim and many more. So, whatever version of Backup Manager they are going to release next week, that better be worth it!
Oh ya, will this work on the PSGroove or PSFreedom? Well, considering that they will going to be a protection on the Backup Manager code where it can only support the original PS Jailbreak dongle, it seems to be slightly unlikely for them. But, who knows, maybe Mathieulh and the others could pull something off out of it. As we have to take account that they release the open source code of the PS3 Jailbreak named PSGroove in just 12 days after PS Jailbreak dongle making themselves the most after sought device at that moment.
So, if i am going to bet, i’m gonna pick Mathieulh and the others. Also, there will be a new version of Open Manager which works the same as the Backup Manager 1.1, yeah i put my bet on that. You can say that i am an open source guy. Whatever it is, this going to be exciting!
Note: The first image above is not the image of the official Backup Manager.
UPDATE: Seems that the news is incorrect, PS Jailbreak team has confirmed themselves that the release date for the public will be 20.10.2010, a nice release date indeed.
UPDATE 2: But, oh wait since xaco has tested the Backup Manager 1.1 then i think what ChipSpain has stated is true! Maybe, ChipSpain will get the Backup Manager 1.1 if they did not stops selling the PS Jailbreak dongle now, interesting.
