A legendary Wii hacker, Waninkoko has updated his FwPKG tool which he claimed to be running properly now. Not to be confused with application PKG files, this tool is only for firmware PKG files. Well, nothing much for the end users, except that we might see something useful from the developers soon.

Back then, Waninkoko released a backup loader for Wii which promotes the distribution of pirated games. So, my guess that he might be the person to release the CFW we have been shitting about since the release of KaKaRoTo’s MFW.

Changelog:

Fix compilation issue in OSX (thanks to jetrix)Adding more copyright stuff to FwPKG (thanks to Sven Peter as his pkg tool helped me to find two very nasty bugs)Metadata info structure fixed. Private key fixed.Info entries fix.Zlib and encryption fixes.Fix stack overflow bug.FwPKG rewritten. CoreOS tool fixes.

FwPKG tool fixed! Now it decrypts, encrypts and signs properly. Grab the latest code @ https://github.com/waninkoko/fwtool
