It seems that Sony has not taken any action to block the new sequel of the “Game of the Year” franchise, the Fallout: New Vegas from being played in a Jailbroken PS3 console. One of the user in the scene has tested the game in the latest Hermes v4b payload and moh.sakhaii’s Open Manager v1.17.2, which he has confirmed to be fully working in their Jailbroken PS3. The user has also reported that there are no tricks done to make it working despite the fact that it is a new game released by Sony.
We have heard recently that there are an outcry in the community over games that requires them to update their Jailbroken PS3 console to 3.42 firmware such as the Medal of Honor and the John Daly’s ProStroke Golf games. It is not the case for the PS3 Game title, Fallout: New Vegas which has been released today. Here are what the user who tested the game wrote:
I didn’t see this game reported working on any other sites so I posted it here.
No Tricks Needed
9.74 GB games total size
Installs 4552 MB game data to HD
Plays on 3.41
No files over 4 GB
I played the game from Original disc (and internal and external). Trophies load fine. It installs files to HD. I have installed game data and saved a game. I backed out and continued a game from the save. It works so far.
Specs of my rig are in my sig.
Open Manager 1.17.2
MCU = atmega32u4
BOARD = TEENSY
F_CPU = 16000000
I made it outside, not giving anything away. The game plays. I have now manually saved and continued from said save and all is good.
EDIT: I can confirm making it well in to the game now. I don’t want to give anything away so I’ll just say I have went through quite a few saves now, auto and manual
